Score more tries than the other team.
Use four cones of one colour and four of another to mark out a 5m box.
Each pair has a ball. One pair start as ‘kings’. The kings move around the box and can pass or run with the ball. When one of the kings touches a cone with the ball, that’s their colour, and the race for three thrones starts.
They then must touch two more colours of cone with that ball. The other pair (the ‘princes’) aim to do the same, with the other colour cones. The first pair to complete three cones are, or remain, the ‘king of the three thrones’. The other pair cannot start on the same line as the kings.
Rule changes: 1. The kings cannot run with the ball; 2. Take out one (and only one) cone.
The front defender can’t come forward until they have counted to three
One attacker flicks the ball back to another
The defenders aim to touch the ball carrier in possession to end the go
Score over the far end.
A 5m box with a 3m extension. One ball.
The attacking team starts with a ball carrier in the middle of the 5m box. The other attacker stands behind them. One defender stands in front of the ball carrier, with the other behind them. The ball carrier ‘snaps’ or passes the ball back to their team-mate. The non-ball carrier runs forward.
The new ball carrier can’t go forward until the defender in front of them moves towards them, or they pass the ball.
The first defender counts down from three. They can then move forward. The defenders can’t knock the ball forward. The attackers can run and pass in any direction to score at the far end.
If a ball carrier is touched in possession, it finishes. The attackers have one life. They keep that life if they retain possession in the 3m box – otherwise it’s a turnover.
