Esher RFC, Tackle and Contact

Join us for a high-energy, hands-on coaching evening, hosted by Esher RFC and in conjunction with Surrey County RFU and designed to give you ideas you can use immediately — whether you’re new to coaching or experienced on the touchline.

 

This session is open to ALL coaches, and everything we do is built around real, practical situations you face every week.

 

In 2025 alone, we’ve delivered 27 events and worked with 500+ coaches, helping them build better sessions, more confident players, and stronger teams.

What to expect on the night

This isn’t theory-heavy. You’ll be on your feet, involved, and learning by doing.

 

The Tackle and Contact Ready course focuses on helping coaches prepare their players for the new rules of tackling and ball carrying into contact for U9s and 1 v 1 rucks for U10s.

 

Here’s what we will be covering:

• Ideas for managing tacklers
• Tips to support nervous players
• Activities to build safe techniques
• Games to introduce tackling and rucking
• Language that gives players ownership

 

You’ll leave with ready-to-run sessions, games, and scenarios for your very next training night.
