30 Practical Drills and Games to Improve the Ruck
Join us for a high-energy, hands-on coaching evening, hosted by London Irish RFC and designed to give you ideas you can use immediately — whether you’re new to coaching or experienced on the touchline.
This session is open to ALL coaches, and everything we do is built around real, practical situations you face every week.
In 2025 alone, we’ve delivered 27 events and worked with 500+ coaches, helping them build better sessions, more confident players, and stronger teams.
What to expect on the night
This isn’t theory-heavy. You’ll be on your feet, involved, and learning by doing.
Ideal for coaches of U12s and above, this hands-on session gives you clear, game-relevant activities that develop decision-making, support play, and safe contesting at the breakdown.
We’ll cover:
✔ Practical drills and activities you can use straight away
✔ Simple, effective attack and defence tactics
✔ Game-based coaching to improve decision-making
✔ High-impact session planning that keeps players engaged
✔ Contact wins, tackling techniques, and confidence in the contact area
You’ll leave with ready-to-run sessions, games, and scenarios for your very next training night.
What coaches are saying
“Great session, well paced, accessible and easily repeatable — get stuck in!”
“Loads of ideas I could take straight back to training the next night.”
“Brilliant atmosphere — practical, engaging, and really useful.”
You’ll also get the chance to connect with other coaches, share ideas, and learn from people facing the same challenges as you.
Don’t miss out
We’re running these events across multiple locations, and spaces fill quickly.
Come along, get involved, and walk away with ideas you’ll use immediately.
Learn. Connect. Take it back to your team.
