Idealistic game model

Mason now asks Vince what his game model looks like…which Vince understands to be like a game plan.

Take a deep breath, Mason does.

Vince says:

“Right, I’ve been watching a lot of professional and international rugby recently and have seen that a lot of team’s use a 1-3-3-1 pod system for their forwards and I think it will be perfect for us to adopt it. 

The two pods of three work within the two fifteens to gain momentum and the two individuals work in the outside channels as attacking link players with the backs. 

We can use our tight five and blindside in the two pods of 3, and open side and eight in the wider channels.

It’ll be perfect! Attacking options both side of the ruck, width across the field and an extra forward in the backline; bang on!”

How does that sound to you?

It certainly has some rugby merit.
