Do you have a breakdown policy? If not, you should. A policy helps guide players' actions at the breakdown. Alongside accurate skill execution, it can help to win the race to the space over the ball after a tackle. MORE

Get players power stepping into the defender and presenting the ball to the support player
- Split your players into groups of four. A defender holds a ruck pad. Two attackers (1 and 2) start 5m away with a third attacker (3) 5m behind the defender.
- When you say “go”, attacker 1 runs with the ball and power steps into the pad knocking the defender back. He pops the ball to attacker 2 who runs to attacker 3.
- The defender turns around, allowing attacker 2 to run towards him, power step and pop to attacker 3. Each player carries three times and then they swap the defender.
You will need
- 1 ball
- 1 ruck pad
