Fizz buzz game
Use this touch game to change the shape of the defence on the third and fifth tackles.
Play touch rugby. The first two touch tackles (which are just two-handed touches), the ball carrier has to go to ground. They can place the ball or pop it up.
On the third touch, “fizz”, the whole defending team must touch the ground with their chests before returning to the game.
The next touch is a place or pop up as before, and the defence are on their feet.
After the fifth touch, “buzz”, the attack team can kick. If one of their players touches the ball from the kick and it doesn’t go forward, they retain possession. Otherwise, the defending team gain possession, either from recovering the kick or from making a touch.
After a kick, if the defending team gains possession, the next touch restarts the touch count. Same for the attack.
Ask the group to offer different changes to the “fizz” and “buzz” outcomes.
