How to apply pressure
Applying pressure to score means using the principles of play to create opportunities.
Teams need to accurately and quickly use skills. Sometimes these skills will not be enough in this phase of play, but might be in the next.
Essentially, you are trying to disorganise the defence, so eventually, there is a space or mismatch of speed or physicality.
Tactics can help, especially when the defence is set and ready.
In the lesson we are going to look at some very basic tactics, which can be the basis for more sophisticated tactics.
We will look at:
Quick ruck ball, realignment, winning the race, different alignments, beating the defence with realignment, stretching the defence, splitting the defence and finally kicking options.
