Rugby coaching tips for technique
To introduce the soft hands passing technique, start by feeding the ball to the jumper with an underarm throw. He must focus on using both hands, with his fingers spread to gently cradle the ball and direct it accurately to the scrum half.

Regular practice will ensure your lineout jumpers become more consistent in the accuracy of their delivery. The weight of pass off the top to the scrum half (or other receiver) will soon improve.
